Editing is a craft, not a setting
Most people learn software. This program teaches decisions - when to cut, what to keep, and why the sequence you choose changes everything the audience feels.
Each session is built around real footage. You work through rough assembly, pacing, sound sync, and colour passes using the same tools used in professional post-production.
The program runs in small groups so feedback stays specific. Progress depends on how much you put in - but the structure is there to make that effort count.
How the program is structured
Four phases, each building directly on the last - no filler weeks, no theory-only sessions.
Assembly & Rough Cut
You start with raw footage - unorganised, untrimmed. The first two weeks are about understanding what you have and making a first pass that holds together.
Weeks 1–2Pacing and Rhythm
Cutting on action, dialogue timing, silence as a tool. You edit the same sequence three different ways and compare what each version communicates.
Weeks 3–4Sound and Atmosphere
Ambience, music placement, and sync work. You learn to feel when a cut is wrong before you can name why - and then name it.
Weeks 5–6Colour and Final Output
Basic grading decisions, export settings for different delivery formats, and a full review of your edited piece with the group.
Weeks 7–8Questions before signing up?
